Rotary receives Connor’s Kindness Project Update
At a recent 6pm meeting of the Lynnfield Rotary, held at the Sheraton Four Points, Wakefield MA. Connor Wright, creator of Connor’s Kindness Kits provided an update for the Lynnfield Rotary who initially hosted Connor in March of last year.
Connor has a creative, heartwarming story!
The idea for Connor’s Kindness Kits bubbled up from the unexpected Covid -19 pandemic. With the help of his mom, Erica Wright and his grandmother, Sharon Marrama, Connor decided to put a positive spin toward the pain people were experiencing, launching a non-profit, Connor’s Kindness Projects. He started with Covid Care Packages distributing bags of thoughtful presents to hospital workers on the frontlines of the Covid pandemic. From that success came, Katie’s Closet (clothes donations) then Connor’s Kindness Kits.
Connor’s initiative is about making “Kindness Kits” to help improve the lives of local children who are emotionally, physically, or financially in need.
Conor gave us an update regarding his progress, that included two fundraisers in 2022 in which to meet his goal of delivering 2000 Kindness Kits around New England. He succeeded! His goal for 2023 is to deliver 2500 Connor’s Kindness Kits.
Accompanying Connor at the presentation was his mother Erica and Grandmother Sharon.
Along with delivering the check to Connor by President Christine Travers, Rotary members were invited to take part in making up 70 kits for upcoming distribution. Sharing the work provided an enjoyable evening for members while serving a worthy cause - Service above Self on display.
