Build a Bed Save the DateSave the Date – Lynnfield Rotary’s Build A Bed - May 11, 2024, 9:00 AM, Market Street Build A Bed is returning to Market Street in Lynnfield! In 2022 Lynnfield Rotary hosted its first Build A Bed project. Collaborating with volunteers from our community we built ten beds for children in Massachusetts. Everyone went home knowing that their work that day had a significant impact on children in our community. In 2023, ninety-one volunteers built twenty-two beds, exceeding our goal of twenty. We are optimistic for 2024,with our target increasing to thirty beds. Lynn based “A Bed For Every Child” will provide lumber, hardware, tools, and expert instruction to construct the bed frames. People will work in groups of up to four builders. The beds cost $350 each. Upon completion, the bed frames will be taken to Lynn where a mattress will be added. The finished product will be delivered to the home of a child who needs a bed. Individuals, families, and organizations can participate as follows: One or more beds can be purchased for $350 each. This allows your team to attend the event and build the frames. If you prefer, the same donation will allow a bed to be constructed by our volunteers in your name. All other donations will be applied towards additional beds. Beds will be assigned to sponsors based on the order in which payments are received. Checks must be made payable to “Lynnfield Rotary Charitable Trust, Inc.” a 501(c)3 foundation, [EIN 88-3347265] and should be mailed to: Lynnfield Rotary - Build A Bed, Please include your mobile phone number and email so we can contact you with any last-minute information in case of a location change due to weather. We encourage you to bring your children and make it a meaningful family event. Please share this information with friends, family, and business associates. Wildfire lights up the Rotary Concert Season FinaleOn Weds night July 26th from 6 -8pm, Wildfire served up a smorgasbord of tunes ranging from Dancing Queen by ABBA to God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood to an enthusiastic crowd for the final night of the Lynnfield Rotary Concert series. The talented vocalists of the group led the way with a wide-ranging repertoire of songs including Simply the Best by Tina Turner, Gloria by Laura Brannigan, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, Giver Me Some Lovin’ by Richie Valens, Old Time Rock ‘n Roll by Bob Seger and many more, to the delight of the largest audience of the year. The weather couldn’t have provided a better backdrop for this the final Rotary Concert. The energy was exhilarating as young and old enjoyed the inviting evening atmosphere with family and friends. Interact, the LHS young Rotarian club, charged with handling food and beverages were so busy they asked that the food and beverage tables remain up until after the final song. The balloon man, Tim Levesque, who provides his artistic handiwork, also found himself having a very busy night, as kids were lined up waiting for his balloon creations with less than a half hour left in the event. Five raffle winners happily accepted their prizes during intermission. Safe to say, Wildfire cemented their position as the anchor of the July - four-week Wednesday night concert line-up, it was a fitting way to bring the successful 2023 season to a memorable conclusion. 2023 Turkey Trot 5K-The Best Yet!Lynnfield Rotary Club had a successful 5k Turkey Trot fundraiser on November 20, 2023. In fact, this year we partnered with the Lynnfield Moms Group to honor the memory of their friend Julie Routhier, who passed away in September after a brief battle with a very aggressive cancer. She left behind a husband and three young children. Their hope was to raise funds to help other such families in the community that face the devastating loss of a loved one so suddenly. Over 300 community members turned out to run/walk and a good time was had by all. Our President, Christine Travers, even wore a Turkey Costume in honor of the race's namesake. Lynnfield Rotary would like to thank all the volunteers and families that came out to support our efforts as well as our sponsors and donors. |

Lynnfield Interact Club Up and Running! The Lynnfield Rotary Interact Club is up and running this year, rejuvenated by the energy of Lynnfield High School Interact Officers Sophia Calle, Abigail Travers, Isabela George and Harrison Grasso and their peers. In November Lynnfield Interact sponsored a donation drive for Veterans in collaboration with Operation Troop Support! Boxes of warm socks and writing supplies were collected and donated to troops overseas. Also in November, Interact Members organized a group of their peers to help stuff SWAG bags for the annual 5K Turkey Trot road race. For the race, Interact members were stationed along key points across the course to keep runners on track! Finally, and most impressive, they came up with their own fundraiser. They sold raffle tickets for Holiday Gift Baskets at the annual Thanksgiving Day football game, at the Turkey Trot, and at the Annual Tree Lighting on the Common netting $290 for their club!. They have out and about Lynnfield this fall. We can't wait to see what their next service project is!
